The Katonah Study Group hosts Dr. Lynn Parodneck, a medical marijuana doctor in Westchester, for a real talk about medical marijuana, how it works now and what’s on the horizon in the near future for our state.

Dr. Lynn Parodneck's medical marijuana practice was born of personal experience. “In 2012 I had breast cancer, and marijuana wasn’t available to me. When I was getting radiation therapy, I remember looking up at the ceiling, wishing I had some pot. For me that was the ‘aha’ moment. I thought, There’s got to be a better way.”

Now Parodneck is a state-certified medical marijuana practitioner, supplying her patients with information and resources to ease their physical and psychological discomfort. She sees them in her tranquil 200-year-old, light-filled carriage house in Pound Ridge, and also by Zoom or phone. Patients come to her for consultation, symptom management and certification to use medical marijuana in New York State. A big part of her mission is teaching patients how to work with it.
