Amma Offers Blessings, Retreat in NYC

Amma will offer individual blessings from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., June 23-24, at All Souls Church, 1157 Lexington Avenue, and a one-day meditation retreat there from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., June 25.
After spending a decade in solitude in Southern India, Amma began her mission of serving humanity around the world by helping eradicate poverty and spreading unity, compassion and respect for all. Through SMVA Trust, a 501(c)(3) humanitarian organization, she has worked to create a better world through programs that provide food, housing, clothing, medical treatment, education, humanitarian assistance, clean water and environmental stewardship.
Amma’s meditation retreats, held in an intimate setting, are designed for both beginning and experienced meditators. She teaches yoga asanas, pranayama, meditation and mantra chanting, practices derived from India’s ancient wisdom tradition. She also conducts homas, or sacred fire ceremonies, to purify the environment and send healing throughout the world.
Retreats require preregistration and a fee. For more information, visit Karunamayi.org, email [email protected] or call 212-330-8280.
