Free Webinar Focuses on Stress Reduction

Natural Awakenings will host an exclusive webinar, Staying Upright in Challenging Times, taught by Jean McClelland, at 6:30 p.m. on September 16. The 45-minute class will be offered free to the first 15 readers who enroll.
A faculty member at the Columbia University School of the Arts, McClelland is a renowned teacher of voice, a 30-year certified senior teacher of the Alexander Technique, and one of fewer than a dozen people personally selected by Carl Stough to teach his work in breathing coordination.
The webinar will focus on using posture and breathing to counter the gravitational forces that drag us down, literally and figuratively.
“For most people, the last few months have taken a tremendous toll on our psyches and bodies,” McClelland says. “But with the right technique, it’s possible to improve our breathing, revitalize our bodies and reduce stress and anxiety in ways that are lasting.”
