Apricus Naturals, a small-batch apothecary founded by Assunta and her partner in soap-crafting, Ken, is reviving the tradition of old-fashioned bar soap—crafted slowly, intentionally and with ingredients sourced from nature.

What began as a passion project quickly grew into a purpose-driven business. “We started making healthy soap for our kids and turned it into a business,” shares Assunta. “We use the funds to support animal rescue.” Their motto reflects that mission: “Healing your skin one bar at a time.”

Each bar is made using the cold-process method with organic oils and butters. Herbs are hand-picked and infused into the oils before being saponified with natural ingredients such as wine, coffee, beer or herbal teas. Every formula is designed to support different skin needs—from calming irritation to replenishing moisture and supporting overall skin health.

As more consumers move away from liquid soaps, Assunta says two driving reasons are plastic waste and the preservatives required for long shelf life. Traditional bar soap avoids both, offering an eco-friendly and non-toxic alternative while allowing the skin to absorb nourishing botanicals.

The name Apricus means “warmed by the sun,” reflecting the comforting, uplifting experience they hope each bar brings.
