How to Stop Destructive and Reactive Patterns

After 15 years of practicing law, I began to understand that underneath the successful façade was a hidden secret: despite my worldly success, I felt unworthy inside. It took another 10 years for me to understand how I became stuck in a cycle of self-defeating, reactive behaviors.
What I learned was that that quest for “more” was never-ending. It was a trap that offered a temporary salve on the wound of unworthiness. Each of us believes that we alone are afflicted. The truth is, even the most successful people suffer from faulty programming. The underlying pattern is the same; it is only the particular triggers and the stories that we attach to the triggers that differ from person to person.
How do we break free from this negative pattern? The answer is that we must rewire our brains to follow a different pattern.
