Natural Awakenings NYC & Long Island

Former Brooklyn Roommates Create Duebest Eco-Cutlery

This year we’ve had to rethink much of how we live life, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. As we’re doing less dine-in and more takeout, a new local brand, Duebest (pronounced “do best”), is helping us do it sustainably.

Founded by former Brooklyn roommates determined to end single-use plastic, Duebest makes reusable wooden cutlery set with chopsticks, a glass straw, and a knife, fork, and spoon, all contained in a lightweight carrying case—everything needed to BYOC (brings your own cutlery). And because the set is germ-free and waste-free, it helps users stay sanitary, which is important now more than ever.

Duebest cutlery is made of teak wood, which is lighter weight and longer lasting than bamboo, the material most wooden cutlery sets are made of. Duebest's teakwood is ethically sourced from Indonesia. Each piece is hand-carved by artisans in Bali, Indonesia, and Fair Trade certified by the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO).
