Free Natural Awakenings Meditation Group
Mind, Body & Breathe, the first collaborative local Natural Awakenings wellness initiative, begins November 16. Each 30-minute session, facilitated by Natural Awakenings NYC and Long Island co-publisher, Michael Lehrman, will consist of a specific breathing technique in combination with meditation. “These sessions will help you take a moment out of your busy day to reconnect with yourself, calm your body and mind, and take a deep breath with fellow Natural Awakenings readers,” he says.
Lehrman has practiced meditation for 15 years using mantras and mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR). “I wanted to create a place to start bringing our community together with no barriers and a safe environment to be together,” he affirms. “I’ve always appreciated the chance to breathe and sit in meditation practice with others benefiting from the shared group dynamic.”
The free sessions are open to all, with no experience and no expectations necessary, honoring a collective coming together of Natural Awakenings readers. Participants can choose to be on or off-camera, and the sessions will not be recorded. “Meditation has had such an amazing influence on my life,” shares Lehrman. “Whether it will be your first time meditating, or you’ve been doing it for years, I look forward to the opportunity to share this beneficial practice with many of you.”
