In This Issue: April 2025
Every April, Earth Day reminds us that our planet is both a gift and a responsibility. It’s a time to pause and reflect on the natural beauty surrounding us and the part we each play in protecting it. For me, that awareness started young. My theatrical mother always held up her arm and made us notice things: the way the light hit the ocean in the late afternoon, the curve of the hills on a long drive, the wildflowers that popped up each spring as if on cue. She’d point and say, “NOTICE.” And we always did.
That habit stuck with me. I find myself still looking, noticing. And now more than ever, I understand why Mom wanted us to see it all—because we stop valuing what we don’t notice. And what we don’t value, we risk losing.
We’re living in a time when the future of our planet is no longer a distant concern. It’s real, and it’s now. Melting glaciers, rising sea levels, disappearing species, and extreme weather events are all signs that we’re pushing Earth beyond its limits. If we don’t act—if we don’t notice, care and choose differently—we may be leaving behind a less vibrant, less stable and less hospitable world for future generations.
But Earth Day is not just a warning—it’s a spark, a call to action, and a reminder that even small changes matter. This month’s issue is full of ways to connect more deeply with nature and live more gently on the Earth. From discovering the benefits of a circular economy to practical, everyday eco-conscious tips, we hope you feel informed and inspired.
Let’s stay curious. Let’s keep noticing. And let’s keep showing up for this beautiful planet—one choice, one moment, one Earth Day at a time.
